PREVIEW DAY IS MARCH 1 & Shopping days are MARCH 4-6. Online shopping is available now as well from the link below.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school!

Here are some tips to consider before you visit:
• ** NEW ** We are so excited to offer an exciting new way to give your kids money for our upcoming Book Fair! This year, we will be accepting eWallet, a way for families to electronically add funds to your child’s account instead of having to send in cash. You can also share the link with other family members who may want to contribute. Any funds not used will automatically be refunded to the payee once the book fair is completed. Check out the link below to set up. http://www.scholastic.com/bf/uniondayschool1

• Take a look at our booklist flyer to see a sample of the great titles that will be available. Many parents find it helpful to make a wish list ahead of time:scholastic.com/bookfairs/books

• Get a jump-start on shopping through our Online Book Fair*! Simply find our Fair to get started: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/uniondayschool1

• Check out your teachers’ Classroom Wish List of books. These are titles that I’d like to add to our class library. Refreshing our classroom library regularly gives kids a reason to keep reading.

• Download the Book Fairs app to get the latest reading level information, book trailers, podcasts, and more. It’s the perfect shopping companion, and you can also use it to purchase books*: scholastic.com/bookfairs/app

We hope you can make it! And if you’re interested in volunteering, visit our link to volunteer: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409094bafaa2b0-book1

All classes will have a preview day on Friday, March 1. Shopping days for classes are Mon, March 4-Wed, March 6 with Family Shopping Night on Tues, March 5 from 6-8pm. Friday am will be a makeup day for any shoppers who missed their day or who just want to purchase additional books.

If you want to shop with your child, please only come in during their shopping time or lunch on the days of the fair, as we are not allowing parents into the building before school hours.

MARCH MADNESS READ A THON

Friday, March 1, we will be sending home a reading log for each child to track their minutes for our final PA fun-raiser of the school year.  We will be sending home an email with instructions for how to raise pledges for your child to encourage them to read every day. Minutes will be tallied by houses and tracked in the lobby so your children can see how their house is doing.   We will also be drawing weekly winners at random so everyone who turns in minutes will be eligible for fun prizes.  The winning house will win a special prize for their class and teachers.
