Spiritwear store NOW open

Please use the link below to place your new spiritwear order. Be sure to include your child’s name as well as their homeroom teacher for ease of delivery. The store will be open until Feb 4th and all orders will be delivered the week of Feb. 18th. (All orders will be sent home with your child through their homeroom class)

Look out for items that are uniform/dress code approved! Those that qualify are noted in description.

Please note certain items can be personalized…a great feature for anyone who has seen our lost and found in the past!

Reminder for returning families and news for new families, all spiritwear items are NOT to be worn as part of any UDS uniform unless specified in description. Items can be worn to and from school and on designated spiritwear days as well as around town to show your gryphon pride!

Union Day School PTO Checkers Night

Union Day School is invited to Historic Bojangles’ Coliseum as the Checkers take on the W/B Scranton Penguins on Sat, Jan 12, 6:00 PM. Tickets are just $16, with $5 from every ticket purchased going directly back to UDS if the school exceeds 100 tickets! You will receive block seating that way you can experience the excitement together. Everyone will also receive a free Checkers hat that can be picked up on the concourse near Section 107! When you purchase, you’ll receive your very own referral link to share with your friends and family. Anyone that buys from your link will automatically be seated with you. All fans will receive an email from FEVO with info on how to access their tickets, 1-2 days before the game. Tickets will need to be accessed via a smartphone and are not able to be printed.

10 Lucky students will be chosen to participate in the Checkers’ VIP High-Five Tunnel! Come join us for a fun night and enjoy getting to know other families better.

Public Participation at UDS PTO Board Meetings –

In order to provide for full and open communication with the parents and UDS staff, Union Day School PTO Board authorizes several avenues for the exchange of information, ideas, and opinions. All of the following operate within the framework of the Board’s regular meetings:

  1. Written correspondence may be directed to the PTO President for consideration at a meeting:  pto@uniondaypto.com
  2. There will be a period of up to 30 minutes set aside for parents to address the Board on items of school business. Individuals are limited in their comments to three (3) minutes unless extra time is allowed by the chairperson. When several persons wish to address the Board on one topic, they shall choose one spokesperson.
  3. The chairperson retains the right to limit discussions on a particular question when such discussion becomes libelous, slanderous, personally colored, or unrelated to the topic being considered.

 

All meetings of the PTO Board will be presided over by the chairperson with the purpose of conducting the business of the Board in a responsible and expeditious manner. While the chairman will have authority to regulate and limit public participation within the provisions of this policy, the Board may determine to limit or alter this authority by a majority vote.

Turkey Trot Fun Run Nov. 16

On Friday, November 16th we will be hosting our school wide Turkey Trot Fun Run.  Times are as follows:  8:30-9:30 4th-5th grade, 9:30-10:30 2nd-3rd grade, 10:30-11:30 K-1st grade.  If you ordered a shirt, they will be coming home around Nov. 14 — please send your students to school that day in their turkey trot shirts.

Thanks to all of our awesome parent volunteers — all of our volunteer spots have been filled 🙂 We appreciate all of you taking the time to help us out. Shirts will be going home today so make sure to look out for them and send your child in wearing them Friday. Parking passes will be going home tomorrow or Thursday for those that signed up to volunteer — please bring them on Friday. REMEMBER due to EXTREMELY limited parking, we can only guarantee you a spot if you are signed up to volunteer so please carpool if you plan to come. Once the spots are full, we cannot allow anyone else on campus. Thanks for all of your support!

Box Tops Promotion: Now – Oct 22

Help our school earn money by clipping box tops off the products you already buy.  The Union Day PTO receives 10 cents for each box top collected.  Lets work together to reach our goal this collection period of $150.  Please send in your trimmed box tops in a baggy or use the collection sheet below, then have your children turn into their teachers for collection.  Please only use the front of the sheet as we will have to remove any that are put on the backs.

If we reach our school wide goal, the kids will win a school wide dress down down with favorite sports team shirts.

Remember the deadline for this collection period is OCT 22.

Aw Shucks Fall Festival: Wed. October 3 6-8pm

UDS has teamed up with Aw Shucks for our 3rd annual UDS Fall Festival on Wednesday, October 3rd from 6:00-8:00pm.

Aw Shucks is located at 3718 Plyler Mill Rd., Monroe, NC.

This is a school sanctioned event, friends & family welcome (will be closed to the public). General Admission is $6 per person, with $1 going directly back to our school! They accept all forms of payment.

Aw Shucks general admission includes corn maze, 1800’s train car, tumbleweed roll, animal barn/grain bin slide, kids play area and horseshoe & cornhole.

Food & drinks are available for purchase if you want to buy dinner or snacks. A general store is open to shop as well as pumpkin picking for an additional charge.

UDS Social Committee has planned several fun carnival games for $5/child CASH ONLY (unlimited) which will include a chance to win a family fun night raffle basket. Professional photographs available for $5 per picture CASH ONLY as well. Mark your calendar, this is one UDS tradition will you not want to miss!
